As the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre approaches, two Israeli-made productions are offering the world sharply different accounts of the #war that followed. One is “Naza,” a #documentary that premiered at the Venice Film Festival this month to a standing ovation lasting nearly 25 minutes, accusing the #IsraelDefenseForces of running a #policy of mass #civilian #killing in Gaza. The other is the fifth season of “Fauda,” the Israeli television #drama now streaming globally on #Netflix, which devotes two full episodes to recreating the #Hamas – led #attack itself, built in part on real footage from that day, much of it filmed by the #terrorists.

The two #productions arrived within days of each other, and the contrasts are shocking. “Naza” rests on anonymous, unverifiable #testimony that the Israeli #military says is riddled with internal contradictions and claims beyond what its own subjects could have known. “Fauda,” despite being a work of fiction, hews so closely to the #documented record of October 7 that one reviewer argued the season actually understates what happened that day.

Gatestone Institute : This #war has to be fought in numerous battlefields and against many #enemies that, though united in their efforts to #destroy #democratic #societies, first among them the US, use a bewilderingly wide range of weapons and tactics.

The George W. Bush administration opened the #military theater of this war by “liberating” #Afghanistan and #Iraq and seeking to #destroy the #terrorists nested there.

But this is a war that must also be fought in #diplomatic, #cultural, #religious, and, above all, #political #battlefields. In all those theaters the #US needed, and could have found, #allies, including among a majority of the #Muslims who have been the first #victims of terror. The #commission made no suggestions about how to engage in those battlefields, who to choose as allies and whom to identify as #neutrals or foes.

Now, this enemy does not grow on trees. He is a #citizen of a state, has bases and safe havens not in space, but in real countries, and uses all the facilities of the #modern #global system. It was astonishing that the 9/11 Commission chose to fly over all that. It discovered extensive contacts between al-Qaeda and 24 governments in #Europe, #Africa, the #MiddleEast and #Asia.

During an interview aired on Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Ingraham Angle,” President Donald Trump defended his prediction that the Iran War will end after the 2026 midterm elections and responded to a question on why the war will end if #Republicans lose the #elections by saying that “a lot of people think if we lose, then I’ll be much more #angry and I’ll just take care of business, that’s another way of doing it.”

Host Laura Ingraham said that Canadian #PrimeMinister Mark Carney is “trying to wait out the #midterms as well, isn’t he?”

Trump responded, “I think a lot of people are. So, Iran’s — as soon as they’re — by the way, the war will end right after the midterms.”

Ingraham then asked, “If Republicans win. But if Republicans lose in the midterms, why would the Iran War end?”

Trump answered, “Well, I think a lot of people think if we lose, then I’ll be much more angry and I’ll just take care of business, that’s another way of doing it. Either way, they lose.”

Before #Iran carried out its attack that killed three U.S. troops in July, #Tehran acquired high-resolution satellite images of the base in Jordan from Chinese entities, according to U.S. officials familiar with details of the #incident.

It is the clearest #evidence so far that Chinese support for Iran during the #war has had lethal #consequences for U.S. forces, according to the officials, who say the U.S. has #connected the imagery to the #attack.

US Vice President JD Vance reportedly sought direct insight from American generals on the war against Iran, seeking to bypass the #Pentagon amid his skepticism of the extended #military conflict.

A New York Times report says the VP was seeking direct intel from military commander on “objectives, tactics, casualty estimates, what the Iranians would do in the Strait of Hormuz.”

According to the report — citing “more than half a dozen” current and former officials, the commanders warned Vance about severely depleted #military stockpiles, as well as the Iranian regime’s willingness to dig in for a major and drawn-out fight.

The newspaper says that the “sobering private #assessments” received by Vance were often quite different from the often #boastful public #rhetoric coming from President Donald Trump.

US #President Donald Trump says he has no regrets for how the Iran #conflict has played out and would conduct it exactly how he did if given the chance for a do-over.

“I don’t #believe in the word ‘regret,’” he tells Fox #News in an interview.

“You can always question yourself a little bit, but if I had to do it again, I would do exactly as I did. I took out their nuclear capability,” Trump says.

The US did not target Iran’s #nuclear sites in the war it launched with #Israel in February. Trump has claimed Iran’s nuclear program was already completely destroyed in US strikes the previous year.
