We #resist him by focusing on staying firm in our #faith and trusting #God to keep His #promises.

#Ephesians 5:22

In this verse, Paul explains how #Christian #husbandsandwives should apply their understanding of #salvation within their #marriage.

Wives are commanded to ” #submit” to their husbands as they would to #Christ, and to show them #respect.

Often overlooked, however, is that men are equally #obligated.

#Husbands are told to love their wives as Christ loved the church: with #humility and #sacrifice as if caring for their own bodies.

One or two pieces are not #sufficient, especially in light of the Second #Qualification, which is the plans of #Satan.

First is the idea of #God being “in” #Jesus. In this context, the meaning is that of character—in other words, Jesus acts perfectly according to the will of God.

Nothing Jesus says or does #contradicts the idea that He is God and His #actions confirm that He is #acting #according to the Father’s will.

These give a useful #perspective on how these various components are meant to function, and why they are #important. His #admonition to “put on” these pieces are also #instructive: #Christians have to be #deliberate about using these #implements.
