Not every reaction was favorable. A viewer from Libya argued the season presented “a biased narrative” that “maligns Palestinians and distorts their struggle,” and one reviewer criticized the October 7 episodes as constructed “too much like an action sequence,” calling the approach “exploitative even if meant as a tribute,” and noted that the season leaves the toll of the two-year war in Gaza almost entirely off screen. Coverage in Qatar’s Al-Araby Al-Jadeed and in Yemen accused cast members, including Amedi, of having “participated in the war of genocide against Gaza.”
