Judge Clears Trump of Contempt in New York Attorney General’s Witch Hunt Probe

Last month a New York Judge agreed to lift a civil contempt charge against President Trump if he pays $110,000 in fines.

The judge on Wednesday ruled Trump is no longer in contempt after failing to turn over subpoenaed documents in New York Attorney General Letitia James’s witch hunt probe.

CBS News reported:

A New York judge ruled Wednesday that Donald Trump is no longer in contempt for failing to turn over documents demanded in a subpoena by the state’s attorney general.

The former president’s April 25 contempt finding came after he contested a December subpoena seeking records related to his personal finances and the financing of several properties. Trump claimed he had no material that was responsive to the subpoena, leading to demands by the judge and the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James that his attorneys provide detailed explanations of how they conducted their search.

“Although we are pleased that the court has lifted the contempt finding, we maintain that it was wholly unwarranted and improper in the first place,” Alina Habba, an attorney for Trump, said in a text message. “We will push ahead with our appeal to secure justice for our client.”

A couple months ago New York Judge Arthur Engoron held Donald Trump in contempt and ordered a fine of $10,000 per day that he refuses to turn over documents to New York Attorney General Letitia James.

US Federal Communications Commission Requests Apple and Google to Ban TikTok App Due to ‘National Security Risk’

The head of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requested Apple and Google on Tuesday to remove TikTok from their app stores due to ‘serious national security threats’ posed by the said mobile app.

In a letter dated June 24, FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr told Apple and Google to remove TikTok from their app stores as it “harvests extensive amounts of personal and sensitive data” from its American users.

“Statistics show that TikTok has been downloaded in the US from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store nearly 19 million times in the first quarter of this year alone. It is clear that TikTok poses an unacceptable national security risk due to its extensive data harvesting being combined with Beijing’s apparently unchecked access to that sensitive data,” Carr wrote in his letter.

NY Supreme Court Eliminates Law That Allowed 800k Non-Citizens To Vote

A New York State Supreme Court Judge ruled Monday that a New York City law, which would have permitted resident non-U.S. citizens in the city the right to vote, violated state law and the state constitution.

“There is no statutory ability for the City of New York to issue inconsistent laws permitting non-citizens to vote and exceed the authority granted to it by the New York State Constitution,” Staten Island Supreme Court Justice Ralph Porzio wrote in his 13-page ruling, according to the New York Post.

The judge said that the city’s December “Our City, Our Vote” would go against the state’s Election Law and Municipal Home Rule Law. These laws permitted only U.S. citizens above 18 to vote in state and local elections, according to the judge, the New York Post reported.

Because the city’s law went against state constitutional requirements, should the city extend voting rights to its over 800,000 resident aliens, it would first need to hold a referendum, the judge wrote in his ruling, according to the New York Times.

In December, the New York City city council approved 33-14 with two abstentions in the measure granting the city’s resident aliens, who comprise 10 percent of its population, the right to vote, according to reporting from the Washington Post.

The law was set to come into effect in the state’s January 2023 elections, according to the Times.

Watch: Pro-Abortion Protester Shoots Makeshift Flamethrower At Police Officers

You have months of rioting, billions in damages, cities unraveling, indifferent politicians and before you know it, somebody gets hurt.

That somebody is Michael Ortiz. He was arrested Friday and hit with an attempted murder charge and a million-dollar bail during a Los Angeles protest of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Seems Ortiz decided to stand up for the rights of women by firing a makeshift flamethrower at cops.

The LAPD was not amused. So Ortiz had the book thrown at him. And I guess we’ve learned that flamethrowers represent a red line in the sand.

It’s about time someone dealt with these thugs.

Reporter Andy Ngo, who in 2021 suffered serious injuries after getting beaten by Antifa, tweeted a video of Ortiz firing his flamethrower.

SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed one imported case of monkeypox infection in Singapore.

The patient is a 42-year-old British national who works as a flight attendant. MOH said the man was in Singapore between Jun 15 and Jun 17, and again on Jun 19 as he flew in and out of Singapore.

He tested positive for monkeypox on Jun 20.

He is currently warded in at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and his condition is stable. Contact tracing is ongoing, said MOH.

The man had onset of headache on Jun 14 and fever on Jun 16. These symptoms subsequently resolved, and he then developed skin rashes on Jun 19.

MOH said the man sought medical attention via teleconsultation on the night of Jun 19, and was conveyed to NCID on Jun 20 for further assessment.

“Contact tracing is ongoing for the affected flights and for the duration of his stay in Singapore. During this period, he had largely remained in his hotel room, except to visit a massage establishment, and eat at three food establishments on Jun 16.

“In general, the risk of transmission to visitors at these locations is low, as data has shown that monkeypox transmits through close physical or prolonged contact. All four locations visited by the case are undergoing cleaning and disinfection,” said MOH.
