Accuweather : Woman dies in fast-moving B.C. wildfire as thousands evacuate

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed Sunday the death of an 80-year-old woman who suddenly died while attempting to flee her Meadow Valley home with a member of her family because of the fast-moving fire.

Authorities in western Canada announced Sunday that a woman died while evacuating her home as several wildfires tear through southern British Columbia, where a state of emergency was declared over the weekend and thousands have been forced to evacuate.

The Bald Range fire, raging south of Kelowna, is one of more than 100 blazes burning in the province, mostly in the south, according to provincial information, which shows 46 were labeled out of control. Nearly four dozen evacuation orders and 51 alerts have been issued.

At 13,618 hectares, the Bald Range fire was among the largest and was labeled “out of control,” meaning officials expect it to spread, as of early Monday.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed Sunday the death of an 80-year-old woman who suddenly died while attempting to flee her Meadow Valley home with a member of her family because of the fast-moving fire.

Though the B.C. Coroners Service will be conducting an investigation to confirm the nature of the woman’s death, “police believe her death to be a result of the wildfire,” the RCMP said in a statement.

“I am deeply saddened by the news from the RCMP that a woman lost her life during the Bald Range wildfire evacuation,” B.C. Premier David Eby said in a statement.

“My heart goes out to her family, friends, neighbors and all those who knew her and will miss her.”

The RCMP said the fire was reported to authorities at 5:15 p.m. PDT Friday. About eight hours later, they received a report of a sudden death from a witness in Meadow Valley.

“This wildfire has been a deeply traumatic event for all those in the region,” Supt. Beth McAndie, officer in charge of the Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional RCMP Detachment, said in a statement.

“Officers are working closely and providing full supports to the impacted family, who are asking for privacy at this time.”

It was the only known wildfire fatality in B.C. as of early Monday.

Eby declared a state of emergency on Saturday. Moreth 12,000 residents of Summerland were under evacuation orders, as were another 8,000 in nearby Peachland.

The extent of the damage from the Bald Range fire was not immediately clear, but Eby said Saturday that “there have been significant losses of home and property.”

“To people in affected areas: If you are under an evacuation order, leave immediately,” he said in a statement. “These orders are issued to save lives. The conditions of this fire are extremely dangerous and are changing minute by minute.”

MANILA, Philippines — A student livestreamed himself shooting and killing another student in a classroom in the southern Philippines ​on Tuesday before taking his own life, an official said, in the second school attack in the country in less than two months.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered law enforcement agencies to investigate and to determine measures to be taken ‌to prevent violence in schools.

“Our schools are where we entrust our children to learn, to grow and to dream about the lives ahead of them. They must also be ⁠among the safest places in our country,” Marcos said in ​a statement.

The shooting took place at a school attached to the ⁠privately-run Ateneo de Zamboanga University in the city of Zamboanga, where the gunman brought a pistol and a rifle onto the school ‌campus and fired at students inside ‌the classroom, according to a preliminary police report.

Zamboanga Mayor Khymer Adan Olaso told DZBB radio that authorities confirmed ⁠the gunman live-streamed the attack through a body-worn camera.

Reuters verified a livestream video of ⁠the shooter in the school. The video shows him entering one classroom and opening fire. He then changed weapons, entered the second classroom and fired more rounds. A student is seen lying on the ground in unclear condition.

The motive was not immediately clear, but a senior customs official told reporters that the shooter used a .40-caliber pistol issued by the Bureau of Customs to the student’s father, a customs official who has since been relieved from his post. A second weapon recovered from the scene ‌was a licensed personal firearm also owned by the shooter’s father, the official said.

Video aired by ​GMA News, with images blurred, showed chaotic scenes inside a classroom with students ducking for cover as several gunshots rang out.

The victim was a male 10th grade student, police said. The gunman, a ninth grade student, killed himself, police said.

Two others were wounded.

The victim was found on the fourth floor of the school, while the gunman was later found dead on the fifth floor after taking his own life, city councilor Frederick Atilano said, citing police information.

The school is a five-story building on a 19.8-acre site that houses the university’s grade school and junior high school students, according to its website.

Several students were treated ​for injuries suffered during the panic to escape, but no other deaths were reported, he said, adding that classes have been suspended.

Social media footage verified by Reuters ‌showed students from ‌the school running out of the ⁠campus building while at least four gunshots were heard in the background.

The shooting followed an attack in June at a public high school in Tacloban City in the central Philippines in which at least three students were killed and about 20 others injured when two of their schoolmates opened fire on campus.

School shootings are rare in the Philippines, which has relatively strict gun ownership regulations, including background checks and psychological ‌evaluation requirements, although illegal firearms remain ​in circulation.

The incident came less than 10 days after a high-profile incident in ‌Thailand, where a student went on ⁠a shooting rampage at a ​school on the outskirts of the capital Bangkok.

I take away your legal ground in that the United Nations building is on American soil and I break these ties with America.

I break this power and I cast out these curses into the pit.

I cancel all plans of satan for America through the United Nations and from all other conspiracies.

I cast every spirit of witchcraft in the United Nations, every cursing spirit, every spirit of satan, into the deepest abyss.

I loose upon the United Nations, confusion, deliverance, and adoption, and Father I ask you to send angels and contain the evil in the United Nations.

Father have your angels create favor for America in the hearts of each delegate as they come from a foreign country.

In the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ I bind the principality and the power of the air, prince of the air, and all evil spirits under them across the US.

I bind all these spirits over congress, senate and other legislative bodies, over the judicial system, over the federal reserve board, over members of the CFR.

I command witchcraft to cease in its tracks and be rendered harmless by the power of God, and I command every witchcraft spirit out of the people in all areas of government and governmental affairs, or any thing pertaining to the government of the US.

I bind and cast out the evil spirits in OSHA, HUD, IRS, EPA, HEW, and welfare.

I cast out and into the pit the evil spirits of bankruptcy, porn’s, lack, loss, need, greed, the spirit of you-only-get-what-you-work-for, confusion, forgetfulness, lack of business, and a poor reputation.

I break the power of the curses that have been put upon this business, and return them to the sender.

The curses of poverty, failure, and any curses beamed by witchcraft or put upon the business in any way whether it be in the soil, or the building, or in the personnel, I bind, command it to be powerless and cast it into the deepest abyss.

Having been given all power over the enemy in Luke 10:19, I have the power to tread on serpents and scorpions and nothing by any means shall hurt me. I want to notify you satan, that in the retaliation that you plan by sending your evil emissaries and foul and evil spirits to harass, torment, or hinder my business or myself or family in any way, they shall promptly be locked up in the pits, just like the ones that were recently locked up from my business.

In the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, I cast out of any fellow workers or employees or any of the members of the management, all evil spirits of witchcraft, mind control, and mind occult, and command these foul and evil spirits to go into the pits, never to return.

Any individual practicing witchcraft, mind control or any other occult and devilish practice, I ask you Father to send angels to surround them and contain them. Put every evil spirit in them in chains and fetters. Render them completely harmless and inoperative.

Now Father, I ask you to send the fire, as you promised in Obadiah 17:18, upon these foul and evil spirits while they are bound and in chains, and render them harmless. Father, I ask you to have your angels remove these evil spirits from the he body and presence of the body, mind, soul and spirit of the practitioner of witchcraft, and take them into the pit and stand guard over them so they will never return tot he face of the earth.

We highly recommend that the overcomer go through the office, plant or business, and anoint all the chairs, the desks, the windows, the walls, and any soil or any thing that would receive the oil. I have anointed the wiring, the plumbing, heating, air conditioning, etc., and have taken charge of it and demanded it to be free of evil spirits. Then I cast the evil spirits out of it in the name of Jesus Christ. In other words what you are doing is freeing the creation from the devil and from the evil by the exercising of the powers of Holy Spirit and by showing faith. Ask the Father to let the oil be a symbol of the Holy Spirit to cleanse that area and all the objects.

Also, if you are in authority or have the authority to do it, remove from the premises all objects of witchcraft that are abominations to the Lord. If you do not have authority to do so, then you should not violate anyone else’s authority even if you know the object is bad. It is a good practice to have the owner of the object remove and get rid of the object. When you do it without permission you can have problems.

If you know that pornographic magazines and erotic sex booklets and paperbacks, are in the offices or shops, then these should be anointed if at all possible. Neutralize and take authority over the pornography spirits that come out of them. There should, if at all possible, e a clean up campaign started. This material should be stopped from coming into the business. If this is impossible then the best a person can do is bind evil powers and cast out the witchcraft contained in them. If the machines were manufactured in a foreign country, I think the curses should be broken on all the machines and all foreign made material.

One business that I went into had a series of original art work that depicted demons and Indian worship in each room. They had paid several thousand dollars for all this original material but it was all devil worship. All types of material, related to satan’s world should be eliminated in offices or a business just as in a home.

It’s my opinion that scriptures on the wall in a business can help bring this business out from under the spell of satan and into the power of the Lord. I think starting by putting some scriptures on the walls in a modest way would be a stepping stone towards the Lord’s being able to use that business as His own.

In the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, I loose into this business, (plant or job, or whatever you are praying for) prosperity, abundance, sound management, ability, and success, and I ask you Father to send angels into every area of this business to create well being, good management, favor and blessing.

I loose the spirits of the Lord, (Isaiah 11:2; II Timothy 1:7; Revelations 5:12) Spirit of the Lord, Fear of the Lord, Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, Counsel, Might, Sound Mind, Power, Love, Peace, Joy, Life, Grace, truth, riches, Honor, Blessings, Favor with the Lord, Strength, Glory and Abundance.

Father, based on Hebrews 1:14, I ask you to send out your angels in great numbers and create favor in the hearts of the customers, potential customers, workers, owners, suppliers, financiers, (anyone else), involved and touched by this business.
