Cops: Kohl’s Theft Foiled by Dead Battery in Getaway Car Whoops
Two apparent would-be thieves probably thought they had the perfect plan—one would run into their local Kohl’s, grab a bunch of merch, and run back out to the parking lot, where the second guy would be waiting with the getaway car. What the suspects likely didn’t count on was their getaway car’s battery dying. Clackamas County deputies say they responded to a call about an alleged theft at the Clackamas Promenade around 3:30pm Monday, and when they got there, they say they found the hood of said car up, and Raymond Stavig and Derek Shurts trying to get a jump from bystanders, per KOIN and KPTV. Found inside the car, among other items, per authorities: phones, laptops, clothing from other stores, stolen credit cards and a credit card reader, drugs, and counterfeit cash.
Deputies say Shurts—who was the one who allegedly lifted the items from the Kohl’s and who authorities say also had counterfeit bills in his pocket—told them that before they arrived on the scene, Stavig had offered him $1,000 if he took the blame for the theft (an offer he apparently declined to take). Stavig, meanwhile, told deputies the items in the car all belonged to his wife. Also stolen: the getaway car itself, deputies say. Stavig was arrested on charges of theft, identity theft, possession of methamphetamine, and a warrant for aggravated ID theft. Shurts, meanwhile, was arrested on charges of theft, possession of a forged instrument, and a warrant for heroin possession. (Read more weird crimes stories.)

WHAT WE CAN EXPECT – THE LAST CRISIS ON EARTH
– Before his crucifixion, the Savior had predicted to his disciples that he would be killed and rise from the grave, and angels were present to engrave those words on minds and hearts (Mark 8: 31, 32; 9:31; 10:32-34).
But the disciples looked forward to political liberation from the Roman yoke and could not tolerate the idea that the one on whom all their hopes were concentrated should die an ignominious death.
They banished the words they needed to remember from their minds, and when the time came to test them they found them unprepared.
The death of Jesus destroyed their hopes just as if it had not been predicted.
Likewise, the prophecies announce the future to us with the same clarity with which Christ predicted his own death to the disciples.
The events related to the end of probation and the preparation for the time of trouble have been clearly presented.
But there are thousands of people who understand these important truths as incompletely as if they had never been revealed.
Does our worship please God?
All forms of witchcraft (manipulative control), are regarded by God as idolatry and therefore cursed. This includes any form of paganism such as Druidism, nature worship, New Age practices, white witchcraft, all forms of freemasonry, Christian and other cults, etc.
Adultery, sodomy, polygamy, sex outside of a marriage as God ordained, and all forms of sexual perversion and other sexual sins, and pornography, are liable to be cursed.
“Fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:” (Colossians 3:5)
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (Proverbs 18:21)
“With his mouth, the godless man destroys his neighbour but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.” (Proverbs 11:9)
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.” (1 Samuel 15:23)
All forms of unrepentant unforgiveness and revenge, wishing harm to someone, inordinate anger or rage, hatred and any such negative emotions can potentially bring a curse and open doorways or portals.
“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:14-15)
“To me belongs vengeance and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time.” (Deuteronomy 32:35)
Violence and all things associated, such as weaponry and martial arts, including movies and video games and online gaming esp. any that don’t glorify God.
“The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion.” (Psalms 11.5)
Anything to do with death cults, such as hell’s angels, skull and skeleton figures, zombies, especially animal sacrifice and blood, or murder, including imagery and paraphernalia, tattoos, costumes or clothing, anything to do with Halloween or horror movies.
Things can be cursed by people too, and some witches of various types and religions and peoples have a propensity for cursing things. For example, many of the Red Indian tribes practised witchcraft and cursed their sacred lands, especially burial grounds. These curses are real and can be deadly.
Places, mountain regions, or lakes, etc. with names including words like ‘hell’, ‘devil’ or ‘death’ have often been found to be dangerous.

WARNINGS FROM GOD – THE LAST CRISIS ON EARTH
– God always warned men about the judgments that were going to fall on them.
Those who had faith in his message for his time and acted on it, in obedience to his commands, escaped the judgments that fell on the disobedient and unbelieving.
To Noah these words were addressed: “Go you and all your house into the ark; because I have seen you right in front of me.”
Noah obeyed, and was saved.
This message came to Lot: “Get up, get out of this place; for the Lord is going to destroy this city” (Gen. 7:1; 19:14).
Lot put himself in the custody of the heavenly messengers, and was saved.
So too, the disciples of Christ were warned about the destruction of Jerusalem.
Those who took notice of the sign of impending doom and fled the city escaped destruction.
So also now, we have been warned about the second coming of Christ and the destruction that is to overtake the world.
Those who heed the warning will be saved.p
