Mark Zuckerberg Launches ‘Church of Facebook’ – Users Urged To “Connect With Digital God”

Mark Zuckerberg has announced plans to permanently make worshipping God an online-only experience on Facebook, eliminating the need for Christians to physically enter churches.

The Facebook CEO boasted this week that he is ramping up the company’s formal partnerships with religious groups across America and encouraging them to entice its users to “connect with God” digitally, reports the New York Times.

Breitbart.com reports: For example, Facebook developers had reportedly met weekly with the Hillsong Church in Atlanta, Georgia, to explore what the church would look like if it were on Facebook instead, as well as what apps they might create for financial giving, video capability, and livestreaming.

“Together, we are discovering what the future of the church could be on Facebook,” said Sam Collier, Hillsong’s pastor.

In June, the church issued a news release saying it was “partnering with Facebook,” and then began streaming its services exclusively on the social media platform.

Facebook now seeks to “become the virtual home for religious community,” reports the Times, noting that the pandemic sparked this strategy for drawing more engaged users to the social media platform, as religious groups have already been pushed to explore alternative ways to operate in the wake of lockdowns.

“The partnerships reveal how Big Tech and religion are converging far beyond simply moving services to the internet. Facebook is shaping the future of religious experience itself, as it has done for political and social life,” the report adds.

But not everybody thinks this is a good idea — especially given Facebook’s reputation with regards to censorship, and generally behaving in an unscrupulous and questionable manner.

“Corporations are not worried about moral codes,” notes University of Edinburgh lecturer Sarah Lane Ritchie. “I don’t think we know yet all the ways in which this marriage between Big Tech and the church will play out.”

Bob Pritchett, who founded Faithlife Corporation, which publishes and creates electronic tools for Bible study, said it is dangerous to have your community anchored “on a tech platform that is susceptible to all the whims of politics and culture and congressional hearings.”

Wilfredo De Jesús, a pastor and the general treasurer for the Assemblies of God, says that online church services were never meant to replace the local church.

And while he has been grateful for Facebook, ultimately, he said, “we want everyone to put their face in another book.”

BIDEN ECONOMY: With Inflation at 40-Year Highs, 4.5 Million Americans Turn to Second Job

The number one issue in today’s midterms may be the economy.  This is not because it is good, it’s because the Biden economy is terrible.

Last week the jobs report came out with bizarre numbers.  The report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) showed an increase in jobs.  But these numbers looked tainted as the measurements overall made no sense.

A further review of these numbers today shows that more and more Americans are turning to second jobs to get by in the Biden economy.

A former gravedigger who has lived alone in a cemetery for 23 years says he never wants to move.

Gulf War veteran Marc Cox, 54, has lived in Witton cemetery, Birmingham, since 1999 and admits he finds comfort in being around the coffins.

Mr Cox said: “People ask me how I can live here – but I always say ‘what do you mean? People are dying to come here.

“I’ve been to war, I’m scared of the living, not the dead”, he told BirminghamLive.

The haunting experience has let him worried on some occasions, especially when it comes to ‘the Grey Girl’ – the ghost of a young girl with long black hair and grey clothes who has allegedly stared at hime through the window.

He said: “I didn’t think anything of her at the time but a few years later I was approached by a group of mourners who I got chatting to. I told them I lived alone and they asked: ‘Who’s that girl we always see in your window?’

We have a very clear explanation of that question in the following verses.

Remember, however, before we look at those verses, the idea of submission has already been introduced in relation to one another. The word “submission” is not in the Greek of verse 22, but it is supplied from the previous sentence (verse). There is a mutual submission of the wife to her husband and the husband to the wife. The husband is to submit to the wife by leading her. How is the husband to lead the wife?

  1. Because the wife is to submit to her husband “as to the Lord,” it stands to reason that the husband is to lead his wife in the way that the Lord leads the church.
  2. How does the Lord lead the church? While the Lord does have authority over the church, he exercises that authority for the church’s benefit. Likewise, Christian husbands will exercise their authority/headship for their wife’s benefit. Notice the how Jesus’ headship benefits the church:
    • Jesus loved the church—he demonstrated that love in his actions. Christian husbands will love their wives and demonstrate that love in their actions.
    • Jesus demonstrated his actions in sacrifice for the church—he gave himself up for her. Christian husbands will sacrifice themselves for their wives (e.g., energy, resources, even their own lives).
    • Jesus did this for the church’s own good—that he might sanctify, cleanse her, and present her to himself as a glorious church. Therefore, Christian husbands will exercise their headship for their wife’s good, never for their own good.
    • Notice that more is written in this passage about a husband’s leadership than a wife’s submission. There is FAR more responsibility placed upon the man than on the woman. It is my belief that it would be easier to be a woman than a man with these requirements!

Checking Phone Mid-Conversation

When conversing with someone, there are few things ruder than being glued to your phone. Not only does it signal disinterest in what the other person is saying, but it’s also an invalidating action.

Sometimes, picking up a call is unavoidable. But if you’re expecting an important connection, politely let that be known at the beginning of the conversation.
