Linden duo wanted for trafficking in narcotics

POLICE have issued a wanted bulletin for Royden Rodney called “Bundock” and Shaquille Lambert called “Shaq” for questioning in relation to trafficking in narcotics.

Rodney, 25, last known address is Lot 265 One Mile Wismar, Linden, Region 10 while Lambert, 25, last known address is Lot 97 Blueberry Hill, Wismar, Linden.

Fight over woman leaves one dead in Baramita

RAFAEL Antonio Aquino Soto, 43, a Venezuelan, died from a stab wound to the chest between February 10 and 11 after fighting with another man over a woman. The suspect has since fled into hiding, police have confirmed.

According to police, the incident occurred at ‘Return’, Baramita, Region One. Investigations revealed that the suspect and Rafael were known to each other and were at a shop drinking alcohol at about 16:00hrs on February 10.

The man and Rafael later left the shop and met up at ‘Return’, Baramita, where Rafael convinced the female to go with him instead of the suspect.
“When she did, the suspect allegedly became annoyed and a heated argument ensued,” police reported.

Police said the suspect then allegedly pulled out a knife from his pants and stabbed Rafael to the chest and escaped from the scene. A medex from the community later visited the scene and pronounced Rafael dead. The body was later transported to the Port Kaituma mortuary as investigations continue.

Girl, 16, raped by Facebook acquaintance

A RELATIONSHIP that developed between a 16-year-old over social media platform, Facebook, resulted in her being raped at home when the suspect visited, police said.
The police in Regional Division Three are currently investigating the report of the alleged rape.

The alleged rape, the police said, occurred on February 20, 2022 around 20:00hrs at the victim’s home.

“Enquiries disclosed that the suspect and the victim are known to each other via the social media platform, Facebook,” police said.

The suspect, police said, reportedly showed up at the victim’s home, and as soon as she opened the door, he pushed her inside and forcefully committed the act.
The teenage victim was home alone at the time. Police are currently looking for the suspect as an investigation continues.

Pregnant woman slashes rival in the face

Devi Persaud

A businesswoman was slashed across the face with a sharp object by another woman who held a deep personal grudge against her.

Devi Persaud, 23, of Lot 195, Clifton Settlement, Corentyne, Berbice, was at the Rose Hall, Corentyne branch of Churches Chicken awaiting an order when the female, who is known to her, approached her from behind and slashed her in the face and made good her escape.

The cashier at Churches who saw the incident, gave Persaud a tissue to wipe her bleeding wound. Persaud subsequently visited the Port Mourant Hospital where she was treated and sent away.

The police were notified, and the pregnant 28-year-old suspect was arrested.

During questioning, the suspect denied committing the act, but confessed to pointing her fingers in the victim’s face because her husband left her to live with the victim.

Police are investigating the incident.
