Children in the Hastings Public Schools district can easily get their hands on a book titled “Gender Queer” that includes illustrations of sexual acts, a school board member said.

In an interview conducted by Minnesota Senate candidate Tom Dippel, Hastings school board member Carrie Tate confirmed that the controversial graphic novel by Maia Kobabe is available to schoolchildren in the district. The book depicts oral sex and masturbation.

In response to a concerned parent who requested the removal of “Gender Queer,” Tate said both the district superintendent and the director of teaching and learning recommended the book remain available. But she noted the school board passed her motion to eventually discuss the availability of sexually graphic materials in the district.

“[Parents] are astonished that it’s in our school, and I think that they’re appalled,” Tate said. “It comes down to exposing children to sexually explicit materials without parental knowledge or consent.”

“It has pictures of oral sex, pictures of masturbation, it talks about sex toys, all these things that should be off the table for free access to children,” Tate continued.

Can an AI do the work of a rabbi?

The rabbi then expressed fear over the advancement of AI. He expressed fear of knowing where content comes from, fear of AI replacing jobs and fear for future developments.

While Rabbi Franklin expressed the belief that AI would not be taking his job anytime soon, AI has the potential to take hundreds of millions of jobs. According to Zippia, half of all companies currently use some form of AI, and 375 million jobs are expected to become obsolete over the next decade.

New York Senior Rabbi Josh Franklin, of the Jewish Center of the Hamptons, surprised his congregation earlier this week by delivering a sermon written entirely by Artificial Intelligence (AI.)

The rabbi used the ChatGPT chatbot, a free-to-access AI program launched in November of last year.

After reading the AI-written piece, Rabbi Franklin asked his congregation to guess who had written the sermon. In response, the congregation incorrectly guessed that Rabbi Jonathan Sacks had written the piece.

‘Unmask our children’: Parents demand end to school mask mandates “Children – and their parents – have shouldered an outsize burden long enough.”

A campaign called “Urgency of Normal” seeks to bring “pre-pandemic norms” back to the public school system. While the immediate thought that comes to mind is getting rid of mask mandates in schools, the Change.org petition instead focuses on a general and consistent return within the education system.

“Children – and their parents – have shouldered an outsize burden long enough. Restoring normal childhood is a moral imperative, based on the balance of today’s evidence,” the petition’s description reads. “We echo the call of the Urgency of Normal and urge our elected officials to adopt the recommendations made by the the group, using the information provided in their toolkit for parents, students, mentors, teachers and administrators,” it concludes.

HYPOCRISY: Gov. Whitmer supported the 2020 BLM riots but opposes the Freedom Convoy “And any encouragement for people to replicate this and break the law and devastate our economy is not just devastating to our national bottom line but to individual households…It’s incredibly unhelpful and downright dangerous.”

Despite supporting the 2020 summer Black Lives Matter riots, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said that conservative media supporting the Freedom Convoy protest up north in Canada against COVID-19 mandates is “unhelpful” and “dangerous.”

Whitmer condemned the ongoing Freedom Convoy, although she had a different take in 2020 when violent BLM rioters torched private property, looted businesses, and attacked law enforcement protecting residential communities.

During an interview with CNN political commentator Brianna Keilar on Friday, the Democrat governor said, “We cannot incite and encourage people to break the law. Especially when it means they’re throwing other Americans out of work and creating an economic crisis that we were just recovering from.”
