BBC : Chad – Close to 1,000 troops, known as the French forces in Chad (EFT), are tasked with guaranteeing the protection of French interests and nationals.

As well as providing logistical and intelligence support to Chad’s army, they had also been part of regional and counter-terror initiatives. They have bases in the capital, N’Djamena, Abéché in the east and a detachment in Faya in the north. –
