Habit of pushing back unwanted memories

Many people respond to traumatic or distressing memories by burying them or pushing them away.

If your worries overwhelm and exhaust you to the point where you begin to have trouble functioning, you might try to block or suppress them in order to cope.

You might not forget a specific event entirely, but refusing to think about it can blur the details and help it fade from the forefront of your memory.

Suppression might seem beneficial, but it doesn’t help you address the source of the problem. Unaddressed anxiety can get worse and have an even greater effect on memory and concentration over time.

Anxiety itself

If you live with anxiety, you know it can serve as a powerful distractor.

Your worries might occupy your thoughts to the point where you can’t seem to escape them, even when you try. Worry and distress might eventually become repeating background tracks for your day. No matter what you do, you’re also attempting to manage and cope with anxious thoughts at the same time.

This divided brainpower often makes it harder to give your whole attention to what you want to focus on, since anxiety keeps getting in the way.

As you continue to focus on your worries and their causes, your brain begins prioritizing these potential threats in order to keep you safe.

As a result, other information may begin to fade into the background.

Once you realize you’ve forgotten some important things, you might even start to wonder whether something serious is going on. And you might begin to fixate on those concentration and memory issues.

In turn, minor moments of forgetfulness that might happen to anyone, especially people under stress, stand out more and more. Normal forgetfulness, then, fuels the cycle by becoming another trigger for anxious thoughts.

Lack of sleep

Anxiety can make it tough to get enough restful sleep. If you aren’t lying awake, replaying a loop of anxious thoughts, you might wake up frequently or have troubling dreams.

A few nights of poor sleep can leave you feeling foggy, distracted, and unable to concentrate, though you probably won’t experience any major health impacts.

Regular sleep deprivation can have serious health consequences, including memory loss. This is because sleep is essential for both memoryTrusted Source and overall brain function Trusted Source.

Elevated cortisol levels

Ever heard of the stress hormone? Cortisol earns this nickname because it helps kick your body into fight-flight-freeze mode during times of increased stress.

This hormone has several important functions, and the right amount can even help you form memories. This might help explain why mild anxiety can actually help improve memory.

Too much cortisol, on the other hand, can have the opposite effect. People with chronic or severe anxiety tend to have higher levels of cortisol, which makes sense considering that anxiety involves extreme, frequent worry about potential threats.

The constant stress you experience can keep your body stuck in a fight-flight-freeze response, ready to respond to danger.

How anxiety affects your memory

You won’t necessarily find yourself unable to recall key events in your life, since anxiety generally affects working memory.

Instead, you might have difficulty remembering things like:

  • task instructions
  • directions to a friend’s house
  • a child’s play date
  • conversations you had with others
  • information in a textbook chapter you just studied

A few different factors play a part in anxiety-related memory loss:

59% of American Voters Back Canadian Truckers Against the Canadian Government’s Tyrannical Wuhan Virus Measures

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has recently enacted emergency powers in his desperate attempt to clamp down on protests that truckers launched against the Canadian government’s draconian Wuhan virus restrictions.

The trucker protests have drawn international coverage. More importantly, these protests have received strong support from American voters according to a recent Rasmussen Reports poll.

In this report, Rassmussen found that 59% of likely US voters back the “Freedom Convoy.” 42% of them indicated that they strongly support the Freedom Convoy. 33% of American voters are against the trucker protest. 21% of these voters indicated that they “strongly oppose” the protest.

On February 14, 2012, Trudeau invoked Canada’s Emergencies Act to crack down on the peaceful protests by truck drivers. These truckers have effectively shut down Ottawa over the Trudeau regime’s Wuhan virus  restrictions. The majority of American voters believe Trudeau should work to address the truckers’ demands.

IS THE RED HORSE GETTING READY TO RIDE IN UKRAINE?

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse Blog.

It has become exceedingly clear that there will be war in Ukraine.  In fact, some would argue that the war has already begun.  On Wednesday evening, widespread artillery bombardment of Donetsk and Luhansk started, and it hasn’t stopped since.  It is being called “the most intense artillery bombardment for years”, and it should be making front-page headlines all over the globe.  According to one diplomatic source, “everyone and everything” is being targeted…

A diplomatic source with years of experience of the conflict described Friday’s shelling in east Ukraine as the most intense since major combat there ended with a 2015 ceasefire. “They are shooting – everyone and everything,” said the source.

It is also being reported that mobile phone service is down throughout Donetsk and Luhansk.

Needless to say, a communications disruption often occurs just before an invasion.

Of course all of this is happening as accusations of “false flag attacks” continue to fly back and forth.

When the vehicle of a top separatist leader exploded in Donetsk, western media sources immediately labeled it as a “false flag operation” by the Russians, while the Russians immediately blamed pro-Ukrainian forces…

Trudeau Persecutes Truckers but Ignores Left-wing Ecoterrorists Who Just Caused MILLIONS in Damage

Violent, weapon-wielding, left-wing terrorists last week attacked an energy company in Western Canada, imperiling employees’ lives, causing millions in damages, and setting equipment alight. Yet Prime Minister Justin Trudeau doesn’t appear poised to use his Emergencies Act powers — declared earlier this week and approximating martial law — against them. Those he’s reserving for the peaceful truckers protesting his draconian COVID restrictions, who now must endure violence against them perpetrated by authorities.

The Gateway Pundit reported on the non-government terrorism, writing that “Canadian company Coastal Gaslink is building a 670 kilometres (416 miles) pipeline project across British Columbia to safely deliver natural gas across the Canadian province…. The project will help heat Canadian homes in the long dark winters. But pro-China leftists hate the idea and want the pipeline shut down” — by any means necessary.

This brings us to what some presumed Trudeau voters did just days ago. As the Vancouver Sun reported Thursday:

Violence has erupted at a Coastal GasLink pipeline work site in Northern B.C., leaving workers shaken and millions of dollars in damage.

Very early Thursday, just after midnight, Coastal GasLink security called RCMP [Royal Canadian Mounted Police] for help, reporting it was under attack by about 20 people, some wielding axes.

RCMP Chief Supt. Warren Brown, commander for the north district, called the attack a “calculated and organized violent attack that left its victims shaken and a multi-million dollar path of destruction.”

Coastal GasLink said in a statement the attackers surrounded some of its workers in a “highly planned” and “unprovoked” assault near the Morice River drill pad site off the forest service road.

“In one of the most concerning acts, an attempt was made to set a vehicle on fire while workers were inside,” said the company in a statement. “The attackers also wielded axes, swinging them at vehicles and through a truck’s window. Flare guns were also fired at workers.”

Two teenagers drop dead days after getting “vaccinated” with Pfizer – media silent

(Natural News) Researchers from Yale University and the University of Michigan published a paper about two boys who were found dead in their beds after getting a second injection of Pfizer’s Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccine.”

Cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough highlighted the study and the associated deaths in a Twitter post, revealing that these unfortunate children had no “chance at resuscitation” at the time when they were found.

“Clear cut findings on autopsy,” McCullough wrote. “I testified in U.S. Senate 1/24 that ‘one case is too many!’ Parents and kids should know more deaths will happen.

The names and ages of the two boys, both teenagers, were not revealed, nor was the location where they died. The paper was published in the medical journal The Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine.

According to the data, the boys “were found dead in bed 3 and 4 days after receiving the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.”

“Both boys were pronounced dead at home without attempted resuscitation,” the study explains. (Related: Braveheart actor Michael Mitchell similarly died just six days after getting his third Pfizer “booster”.)
