I once practiced a simple prayer exercise with friends to release the pain we had suffered together. We imagined writing down on a sheet of paper all the hurtful words and actions others had aimed at us. Then, in our minds’ eyes, we folded that page into a tiny paper boat such as a child might make. Then we lowered that boat onto the surface of a stream and watched the current carry away all that had been said and done against us. It was a helpful exercise, a prayer of release.

Some things are easier than others to let go, of course. Some things require great effort—and prayer—before we can be free of them. But that “paper sailboat” exercise can be adapted to any number of situations, such as the following:

Las Vegas teen relearning to walk after rare vaccine reaction

Emma Burkey, who suffered a devastating brain injury after receiving the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, spends most of her waking hours trying to get better.

The 19-year-old Las Vegan spends five hours or more most days undergoing therapy to relearn to walk and to improve fine motor skills in her hands, function lost after a series of strokes caused by a blood clot in her brain.

Burkey has come a long way. When she first came out of a medically induced coma, she could not speak, move or even blink her eyes.

“At the very beginning, when I was at the hospital, I couldn’t move literally anything,” Burkey recalled on Wednesday. “And my parents didn’t know that I was even there, that I wasn’t a vegetable, until I stuck my tongue out” as a way to answer yes or no questions.

Omicron found in 95 per cent of samples in Mumbai in latest genome sequencing The Omicron variant had triggered the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic in late December 2021 and it now ebbed in the Maharashtra state capital.

MUMBAI: Nearly 95 per cent of swab samples examined in the latest round of genome sequencing in Mumbai were found infected with the Omicron variant of COVID-19, the city civic body has said.

The Omicron variant had triggered the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic in late December 2021 and it now ebbed in the Maharashtra state capital.

Citing results of the ninth round of genome sequencing in the city, the BMC said out of the total 190 samples which were tested, 180 (94.74 per cent) were found infected with Omicron, and the remaining samples with the Delta variant and other strains of coronavirus.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in a release issued on Monday appealed to citizens to continue following COVID-19-appropriate behaviour despite a huge drop in daily cases.

Mumbai reported 192 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, the lowest daily count since December 13, 2021, and two fresh fatalities linked to the infection, while 350 more patients were discharged following recovery, the civic body said.

Trudeau vows to freeze anti-mandate protesters’ bank accounts

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has taken the unprecedented step of invoking the Emergencies Act to crack down on anti-vaccine mandate protests.

Mr Trudeau said the scope of the measures would be “time-limited”, “reasonable and proportionate” and would not see the military deployed.

With no need for a court order, banks will be able freeze personal accounts of anyone linked with the protests.

Hundreds of demonstrators remain in Canada’s capital city.

On Sunday, law enforcement cleared anti-mandate protesters at the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor – a critical pathway for Canada-US trade – after a week-long stalemate.

What began as a rally against a new rule that all truckers must be vaccinated to cross the US-Canada border, or quarantine upon return, has grown into a broader challenge to all Covid health restrictions.

Deaths among Triple Vaccinated increased by 495% in January with the Vaccinated accounting for 4 in every 5 Covid-19 Cases, Hospitalisations & Deaths since December

Official data from Public Health Scotland confirms the vaccinated population have accounted for 4 in every 5 Covid-19 cases, hospitalisations and deaths over the past two months.

But a side by side comparison of those two months suggests the Covid-19 booster campaign has been a complete failure because the percentage of Covid-19 cases, hospitalisations and deaths have all gone down in the unvaccinated population whilst increasing drastically in the triple vaccinated population.

Nicola Sturgeon the First Minister of Scotland has insisted that mask wearing and vaccine passports will remain in Scotland despite Boris Johnson the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom scrapping both requirements at the end of January, and pledging to possibly scrap all remaining restrictions towards the end of February.

Mask wearing, as anyone with an oune of intelligence should know, is of course completely pointless because the virus is small enough to penetrate the holes found in surgical masks and FFP3 masks. So the cloth masks sold by Dr Julia Grace Patterson (an unregistered doctor who is really a psychiatrist) and her EveryDoctor venture are just borderline idiotic.

But what’s fast becoming even more idiotic is the idea that a vaccine passport system is the way forward, because official Public Health Scotland data shows it is the vaccinated who are most likely to spread Covid-19, it is the vaccinated who are most likely to be hospitalised with Covid-19, and it is the vaccinated who are most likely to die of Covid-19.

Parallels Emerge Between ‘Deep State’ Spying on Trump and Netanyahu

Striking parallels emerged Friday between the cases of former U.S. President Donald Trump and former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who appear to have been the victims of electronic eavesdropping by political opponents.

In the Netanyahu case, Israelis have learned over the past few days that law enforcement authorities used spyware to hack his cell phone and those of his associates, doing so without apparent legal authority to find evidence to use against him — or to turn potential witnesses against him. In addition to devoting massive police resources to searching for dirt on Netanyahu, Israeli authorities also leaked stories — many later discredited — to the press as Netanyahu faced a series of tough elections.

In the Trump case, Special Counsel John Durham filed a motion Friday in the prosecution of a former Hillary Clinton lawyer that suggested Clinton associates paid a contractor to spy on Trump and his associates, during the 2016 campaign and once Trump became president. Their goal was to dig up dirt on Trump and to support the Russia “collusion” conspiracy theory, which turned out to be false but crippled Trump’s presidency and led indirectly to a failed impeachment effort in 2019.

Qld reports six virus deaths, 3750 cases

The state has recorded another six virus deaths, with half in aged care, and 3750 new cases in the 24 hours to 6.30am on Monday.

The outbreak peaked almost three weeks ago, with 514 patients in hospital and another 41 people in intensive care, including 20 on ventilators on Monday.

Health Minister Yvette D’Ath says with numbers of new cases, hospitalisations and deaths falling, the Queensland Disaster Management Committee is planning to scrap the daily COVID-19 media briefings.

She says the daily virus figures will instead be posted online at a set time, which is already the practice in other states.

“Well, I smile because we had that conversation this morning, you know, I think we are getting closer to be able to simply put the numbers up and report them at a consistent time every day, unless there is something out of the ordinary, or particularly important that we believe needs to be reported at press conferences,” Ms D’Ath told reporters on Monday.

Philippine health department denounces fake Omicron ‘alert’

As Covid-19 ripped through the Philippines, social media posts purported to share an official government health warning about the Omicron variant. The posts are misleading; the health department said it had not issued the warning, which makes a string of baseless claims about the virus.

“DOH OMICRON ALERT,” reads the graphic shared on Facebook on January 17, referring to the Philippine Department of Health.

“Omicron infection rate takes 20 seconds to infect adults and children,” it reads.

The graphic, which features the DOH logo, also claims that a person infected with the Omicron Covid-19 variant “can be re-infected after three weeks” and that “re-infection is more fatal”.

“Omicron infected [sic] is caused by positive people who are freely walking, working without showing symptoms and infecting other people,” it adds. “Always wear a mask even at home”.
