Three soldiers get 15 years each for spate of armed robberies

  • Three Zimbabwean soldiers have been sentenced to 15 years by the military justice system for a spate of armed robberies.
  • The Zimbabwean army says rogue elements in the force will face the full wrath of the law.
  • Critics blame the armed robberies involving the military and police on a failing economy and a poorly paid army.

Three soldiers from the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) have each been sentenced to 15 years behind bars after being convicted of armed robbery, theft and unlawful entry by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces General Court Martial.

According to ZNA public relations director Colonel Alphios Makotore, Lance Corporal Fortune Ndlovu, privates Ratiel Manyanga and Kaino Masase were the latest “rogue elements of the force” to be dealt with by the the General Court Martial.

“They were convicted of armed robbery, unlawful entry, and theft after a fully contested trial before the General Court Martial seating in Bulawayo last week. They had all pleaded not guilty to the charges,” he said.

Prophecy News Watch: The Battlefield Is Being Prepared

For almost two weeks, American forces have conducted nightly attacks against Iranian air defenses, coastal radar installations, anti-ship missile positions, drone-launching facilities, military command centers and maritime infrastructure.

Reuters reported that these attacks were not simply retaliation for individual Iranian actions. They were also destroying capabilities the United States would want eliminated before undertaking more complicated operations deeper inside Iran.

That is what military planners call shaping the battlefield.

The arrival of the B-1B Lancer in the renewed campaign provides another important signal. A B-1 reportedly flew from a British base to strike Revolutionary Guard targets, marking its first use since the latest fighting began. The aircraft can carry up to 75,000 pounds of conventional weapons, including two dozen 2,000-pound bombs or up to 24 long-range JASSM cruise missiles.

A B-1 is not necessarily the weapon that would be used against Iran’s deepest underground chambers. Its importance is volume. It can deliver an enormous number of precision weapons against command centers, missile sites, aircraft shelters, military industries and infrastructure during a single mission.

A strike against Pickaxe Mountain would probably require a different package. During the earlier attack on Iran’s Fordow facility, the United States used B-2 stealth bombers carrying 30,000-pound Massive Ordnance Penetrators. Fighter aircraft suppressed Iranian air defenses while a submarine launched Tomahawk missiles against other targets. Decoy aircraft were sent in another direction to conceal the operation.

A new attack could follow a similar pattern, but on a much wider scale: stealth bombers attacking underground facilities, B-1s delivering large numbers of conventional weapons, fighters suppressing remaining air defenses, ships and submarines launching cruise missiles, and cyber and electronic-warfare operations attempting to blind Iranian communications.

Dozens of additional American refueling aircraft have also reportedly been positioned in Israel as the administration considers bombing Iran’s nuclear and strategic infrastructure. Refueling aircraft are essential when large numbers of combat aircraft must remain over distant targets for extended operations.

The United States may therefore be preparing for something considerably larger than another night of limited retaliatory strikes.

Prophecy News Watch: What Would America Target?

The most likely opening targets would be those capable of threatening American aircraft, bases and ships: air-defense batteries, ballistic-missile launchers, drone facilities, coastal missile sites, Revolutionary Guard command centers and military communications.

A second wave could strike Iran’s strategic infrastructure.

Trump has explicitly threatened to destroy an Iranian bridge or power plant for every additional commercial vessel attacked in the Strait of Hormuz. His administration has also discussed strikes against nuclear facilities, energy infrastructure and the fortified Pickaxe Mountain complex.

More dangerous options have reportedly included deploying American troops to seize Kharg Island, through which much of Iran’s oil historically flows. That would be far more escalatory than an air campaign because it could require amphibious forces, special-operations troops and the continuing defense of captured Iranian territory.

A ground invasion of Iran still appears highly unlikely. A concentrated campaign intended to destroy strategic assets, punish the leadership and force Tehran to reopen shipping routes is much more plausible.

The central danger is that Iran has already explained what it would do next.

Prophecy News Watch: Iran Could Attack The Gulf’s Lifelines

Tehran has warned Gulf governments that American attacks on Iran’s electrical grid would produce “unlimited retaliation” against countries hosting American military forces.

Those threats cannot be dismissed as empty rhetoric. Earlier in the conflict, Iranian missiles and drones damaged Qatar’s enormous Ras Laffan energy complex, targeted Saudi facilities, set fires at Kuwaiti refineries and forced the United Arab Emirates to shut gas installations.

Iran could attempt to strike American bases in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. It could simultaneously target electrical plants, oil terminals, refineries, pipelines and water-desalination facilities belonging to those countries.

Desalination plants are particularly consequential because several Gulf nations depend heavily on them for drinking water. Even limited disruption could create panic, force emergency rationing and place enormous pressure on governments that want no part in the war.

Israel would almost certainly prepare for renewed ballistic-missile attacks. Municipalities including Ramat Gan, Eilat and Karmiel have opened public shelters after local assessments concluded that the danger of Iranian missile fire over the weekend was no longer negligible. Israeli officials reportedly believe that an American attack against strategic Iranian infrastructure or senior regime figures could cause Tehran to bring Israel directly back into the conflict.

The shelter openings are therefore meaningful. But they are precautionary indicators–not proof that Israel has received the exact time of an impending American attack.

Prophecy News Watch: Iran Is Opening A Second Shipping Front.

Iran may also retaliate indirectly by attempting to choke the world’s energy arteries.

The Strait of Hormuz is already heavily disrupted. Now the Houthis are attempting to threaten Saudi shipping through the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb.

Reuters reports that Iran recently transported Revolutionary Guard commanders, military advisers and missile- and drone-related equipment into Houthi-controlled Yemen. Days later, the Houthis announced a blockade of Saudi shipping and attacked Saudi oil tankers.

That creates a potential two-chokepoint crisis: Iran threatening traffic through Hormuz while its Houthi allies threaten traffic between the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

Oil has already climbed above $100 per barrel. The two waterways together handle roughly one-quarter of global petroleum supplies, and insurers are sharply increasing the cost of sending ships through threatened areas.

A sustained shutdown could produce fuel shortages, inflation, disrupted supply chains and a major global recession. Predictions of an automatic worldwide depression, failed banks and the immediate collapse of civilization go well beyond what the evidence presently supports. But the economic danger is unquestionably severe.

Prophecy News Watch: The Next Few Days Could Be Decisive

.

No credible source can guarantee that a massive attack will occur this weekend.

Diplomatic communications are reportedly continuing through Qatar, Oman and other intermediaries. Some of the military buildup and public threats may be intended to frighten Tehran into reopening the Strait of Hormuz and accepting American nuclear demands without another enormous battle.

But the warning lights are flashing.

The president says he is close to a decision. B-1 bombers have entered the renewed campaign. Additional refueling aircraft have been positioned. Iranian air defenses and coastal systems are being systematically reduced. Pickaxe Mountain has been publicly identified as a coming target. Iran is reinforcing the Houthis, threatening Gulf infrastructure and warning Britain that an airbase used by American bombers is now a legitimate target.

Taken individually, any one of these developments might be dismissed as signaling or psychological warfare.

Taken together, they describe a region preparing for the possibility that the current war is about to enter its most dangerous phase yet.

India accidentally fired missile into Pakistan

India said on Friday it had accidentally fired a missile into Pakistan this week because of a “technical malfunction” during routine maintenance, giving its version of events after Pakistan summoned India’s envoy to protest.

Military experts have in the past warned of the risk of accidents or miscalculations by the nuclear-armed neighbors, which have fought in numerous armed clashes, usually over the disputed territory of Kashmir.

Tensions have eased in recent months, and the incident, which may have been the first of its kind, immediately raised questions about safety mechanisms.

“On 9 March 2022, in the course of routine maintenance, a technical malfunction led to the accidental firing of a missile,” the Indian Ministry of Defence said in a three-paragraph statement.

“It is learned that the missile landed in an area of Pakistan. While the incident is deeply regrettable, it is also a matter of relief that there has been no loss of life due to the accident.”

CONCERN FOR THE FUTURE – THE LAST CRISIS ON EARTH

– The present moment is of overwhelming interest to all who live.

Rulers and statesmen, men in positions of trust and authority, thinking men and women of all classes, have their attention fixed on events around us.

They observe the relationships that exist between nations.

They observe the intensity that takes hold of every earthly element, and they recognize that something great and decisive is about to happen, that the world is on the eve of a spectacular crisis.

Calamities on land and sea, social instability, threats of war, like portentous omens, announce the proximity of events of the greatest gravity.

The evil agencies unite and increase their forces for the great final crisis.

Great changes are about to take place in the world, and the final moves will be swift.

In light of the debate surrounding truth and biological reality, Trump in January 2025 signed an executive order titled,

“Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism And Restoring Biological Truth To The Federal Government,” Breitbart News reported:

“Across the country, ideologues who deny the biological reality of sex have increasingly used legal and other socially coercive means to permit men to self-identify as women and gain access to intimate single-sex spaces and activities designed for women, from women’s domestic abuse shelters to women’s workplace showers,” the order reads, explaining that this is “wrong” and adding that such moves — namely, attempts to remove the reality of biological sex — “fundamentally attack women by depriving them of their dignity, safety, and well-being.”

“The erasure of sex in language and policy has a corrosive impact not just on women but on the validity of the entire American system. Basing Federal policy on truth is critical to scientific inquiry, public safety, morale, and trust in government itself,” Trump’s order reads, blasting the left for replacing the “immutable biological reality of sex with an internal, fluid, and subjective sense of self unmoored from biological facts.”

A poll in May 2025 found Americans were increasingly rejecting transgender ideology and showed support for how Trump was handling the issue, according to Breitbart News.

Seattle has long been a center for controversy when it comes to transgender issues.

In 2019, a city official was placed on leave after it was reported she hired a transgender stripper to dance topless at a homelessness conference. A Seattle museum in 2022 planned to host a summer camp led by a cross-sex “drag artist” to train children on how to “create your own personas.” And Seattle’s public schools published a lesson plan telling fourth graders to write a letter with advice to a child who knew he was a girl “from the time she was two years old,” Breitbart News reported.

President al-Sharaa: Macron’s visit marks new chapter in Syrian-French relations

Damascus, July 8 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa said Wednesday that French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Damascus marks a new chapter in Syrian-French relations based on mutual respect and shared interests.

“It was a pleasure to welcome His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron to Damascus, the city of history and civilisation, on a visit that marks the beginning of a new chapter in Syrian–French relations, founded on mutual respect and shared interests,” President al-Sharaa said in a post on X.

“Our discussions resulted in practical steps to strengthen cooperation between our two countries, most notably an agreement to exchange ambassadors, and the signing of a number of strategic agreements and Memoranda of Understanding in the fields of energy and reconstruction, in a manner that advances the aspirations of our two peoples and supports efforts towards development and stability,” he added.

President Macron arrived in Damascus on Monday at the head of a high-level delegation, marking the first visit by a French president to Syria since 2009 and the first since the fall of the deposed regime. During the visit, the two leaders signed agreements on the exchange of ambassadors and launched joint economic committees.

The agreements included a declaration of intent to return 50 million euros seized from Rifaat al-Assad to fund development projects in Syria, as well as memoranda of understanding in energy, banking and infrastructure. The visit reflects a new chapter in bilateral relations between the two countries.
