Nearly 2.8 Million Birds (Mostly Chickens And Turkeys) Have Died In The First Month Of America’s Raging New Bird Flu Pandemic

On top of everything else, now a highly pathogenic avian influenza pandemic is ripping across the United States, and it has already resulted in the deaths of almost 2.8 million birds.  Most of the birds that have died have been chickens or turkeys.  And since this was just in the very first month of the pandemic, there is no telling how bad it could eventually become.  What will the eventual death toll look like?  Will it be in the tens of millions?  That is definitely a possibility.  And what would happen if the bird flu mutates into a version that spreads easily among humans?  We might want to start thinking about that, because that is possible too.

MDC-T Activist Arrested For Defacing CCC Campaign Posters

AN MDC-T supporter has appeared in court on charges of violating the Electoral Act after he allegedly defaced campaign posters for a Citizens For Coalition Change CCC National Assembly candidate in Epworth.

Adam Kazembe (55) allegedly defaced campaign posters for CCC Member of Parliament (MP) candidate in Epworth, Earthrage Kureva.

He appeared before Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda who remanded him out of custody on ZW$5 000 bail.

Man In Court For Raping Girl (12)

A 29-year-old man appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court Tuesday facing charges of raping a 12-year-old girl.

The court heard that on February 26 at about 1300 hours, the girl was on her way to buy bread when she was invited by the alleged paedophile, Gabriel Zimuto into his house.

Zimuto then allegedly proposed love to the complainant and she accepted.

The state further alleges Zimuto immediately asked requested for sex ad she complied.

The State, represented by prosecutor Yeukai Dzuda, told the court that the girl’s parents became suspicious after she failed to return home on time, resulting in them going out to search for her.

After finding her, the State further alleged, the parents question her on why she had delayed returning home and she disclosed what had happened.

They then file a police report resulting in Zimuto’s arrest.

Three soldiers get 15 years each for spate of armed robberies

  • Three Zimbabwean soldiers have been sentenced to 15 years by the military justice system for a spate of armed robberies.
  • The Zimbabwean army says rogue elements in the force will face the full wrath of the law.
  • Critics blame the armed robberies involving the military and police on a failing economy and a poorly paid army.

Three soldiers from the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) have each been sentenced to 15 years behind bars after being convicted of armed robbery, theft and unlawful entry by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces General Court Martial.

According to ZNA public relations director Colonel Alphios Makotore, Lance Corporal Fortune Ndlovu, privates Ratiel Manyanga and Kaino Masase were the latest “rogue elements of the force” to be dealt with by the the General Court Martial.

“They were convicted of armed robbery, unlawful entry, and theft after a fully contested trial before the General Court Martial seating in Bulawayo last week. They had all pleaded not guilty to the charges,” he said.

Chihuri Corruption Trial Postponed

THE High Court has postponed the corruption case in which the State seeks to forfeit properties worth US$32 million owned by former police commissioner-general Augustine Chihuri and his family.

The State believes the assets are party of the massive wealth Chihuri corruptly amassed when he was police boss.

Justice Pisirai Kwenda postponed the case to March 16, because he had a busy schedule.

The former commissioner-general is being accused of side-tracking US$32 million of public funds into family companies and buying properties during his 25-year tenure.

He is alleged to have sold five properties between 2017 and 2018 following his unceremonious departure.

Maryland doctor run over, killed by his own car during brazen auto theft

A thief stole a Maryland doctor’s Mercedes sedan and struck and killed the victim while fleeing the scene in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday night, a report said.

The brazen auto theft occurred after Dr. Rakesh Patel, 33, exited his car, which was still running, to deliver a package to his girlfriend on Vernon Street NW at about 8 p.m., NBC Washington reported, citing police.

LA man charged with assault in SoFi Stadium parking lot attack Bryan Alexis Cifuentes has been charged with assaulting a 49ers fan in a SoFi Stadium parking lot ahead of the Los Angeles Rams’ NFC Championship Game. The assault left chef Brian Luna in a medically-induced coma. Luna has since awoken.

 

Another man shot in Riverside’s Arlanza neighborhood; suspect arrested

A man was wounded by gunfire and a person walking away from the area was arrested on Tuesday, March 8, the Riverside Police Department said.

The shooting happened at about 4:25 p.m. in the 10000 block of Yellow Brick Road, said Officer Ryan Railsback, a department spokesman.

“The adult male suspect was safely detained and found to still be in possession of the firearm believed to have been used.  The victim was taken to a local hospital in serious but stable condition,” Railsback said.

The suspect and victim appeared to know each other, Railsback said.

Stephen William Cano, who turns 39 on Saturday, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and various firearms violations, the county jail log shows. He was being held at Cois M. Byrd Detention Center in French Valley in lieu of $1 million bail.

Five Men Charged with the 2012 Murder of Hector Camacho

The family of beloved boxing icon Hector Camacho can now finally let out a sigh of relief.

In a courtroom Wednesday in San Juan, Puerto Rico, five men were charged with the shocking murder of the three-division titlist and his childhood friend Adrián Mojica Moreno, bringing some semblance of closure to a tragedy whose perpetrators remained a mystery for nearly 10 years.

In November 2012, Camacho was shot in the face while sitting in a Ford Mustang outside a bar in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, his birthplace. The bullet traveled through the left side of Camacho’s face and fractured his vertebrae. He was rushed to a hospital in San Juan but died four days later after he was disconnected from life-support. Camacho was 50. Mojica was killed on the spot and discovered to have nine bags of cocaine in his pocket, while a 10th was found open in the car.

Former Horizon High teacher pleads guilty to child sexual exploitation FBI: Teacher had past sexual encounters with minors, child porn

A former Horizon High School teacher pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor on Wednesday in El Paso federal court, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

FBI agents arrested Ricardo Ortiz, now 30, when he arrived at a home to have a sexual encounter with an undercover agent posing as a 14-year-old boy that he met on social media in 2020, officials said.

The investigation found Ortiz allegedly had past sexual encounters with at least three minors in the El Paso area and child pornography was found on his electronic devices, authorities said Wednesday.
